Participation in the EU call INFRASTRUCTURE 2012.1.1.5

EATRIS wants to forward the process of integration and to accelerate the building of European translational research infrastructure

A leap forward in the effectiveness of biomedical research - for better patient outcomes

EATRIS marks official start to developing Europe’s translational research of the future

Scope of EATRIS Consortia

EATRIS has built its consortia around five technology areas (called product groups):

These were selected on the basis of discussions with prospective users of translational research infrastructure (academia, SMEs and large biotech/pharma companies) indicating that there is a demand in Europe. Furthermore the output of these areas of activity can contribute significantly to the needs of the healthcare sector and society.

Infrastructure activities of EATRIS in the translational pipeline

EATRIS brings "under one roof" critical mass in infrastructure needed to secure successful translational research:

  • high-quality physical resources (so-called bricks), such as state-of-the-art imaging and animal facilities, basic research facilities and Phase I clinical trial centres
  • Professional scientific and project management ("brains"), to guide translational R&D projects
  • education and training of scientists, physicians and science-oriented clinicians on translational research.

Each of the five product groups have overall guidance and control of the output of these activities.
