With over 37.000 students, the University of Copenhagen, founded in 1479, is the largest institution of research and education in Denmark. The Faculty of Health Sciences has 4.000 students and 1.000 researchers and the co-located National Hospital, Rigshospitalet has more than 7.000 employees. Together they constitute a strong translational research environment with close interaction and high scientific productivity within preclinical, clinical and translational research. Translational research and state-of–the art research core-facilities are currently areas of priority.
